Angelo James “AJ” Alcaraz

Angelo James “AJ” Alcaraz

Angelo, at the young age of 22, of Lovelock, Nevada, passed away at home on June 13, 2026.

He was born Aug. 31, 2003, at Renown Hospital in Reno, Nevada, to Joseph Alcaraz and Denise Murphy.

Angelo lived in Lovelock most of his life. He briefly lived in Omaha, Nebraska, with his mother and siblings. He attended schools in both Nevada and Nebraska before returning to Lovelock, where he graduated from Pershing County High School with the Class of 2022. After graduation, he worked at U.S. Silica in Lovelock.

He met his girlfriend, Mariana Espinoza, and together they welcomed his daughter, Katilayah, who was the center of his life and the reason behind every effort he made. Their bond was unbreakable. He loved her with all his heart, and it showed every day. That little girl loved her daddy, her twin.

Angelo had an unconditional love for his family and a fun, loving personality. He loved music of every kind, always with it blasting through the windows. AJ stayed in touch with his loved ones every day. Those phone calls, messages, texts, videos and countless memories will be missed the most and forever remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Joseph Alcaraz II and Denise Murphy, both of Lovelock; his daughter, Katilayah; his brothers, Joseph III, Andrew, Ivan, and Eli; his sisters, Anjeannette and Amontei; his paternal great-grandfather, Leonard Villipando; his paternal grandmother, Suzie Alcaraz; his maternal grandfather, Dennis Murphy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Geneva "Happy" Zeimet, and his older brother, Daylon Christopher "Ducky" Vasquez.

Although his family feels great sadness over his passing, they also feel immense gratitude for having been blessed to share so many wonderful memories with him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in paradise, AJ.
