Pershing County’s first quarter financial report for Fiscal Year 2025–26 is now available, offering
a snapshot of county spending from July through September. The full report, published by the
Recorder-Auditor’s Office, details $10.1 million in payments made across county departments,
funds, and special districts.
Among the largest expenditures this quarter were payments to Qualcon Contractors Inc. ($2.09
million) and Armstrong Consultants Inc. ($181,000) for public works and infrastructure projects,
reflecting the county’s ongoing investments in road and facility improvements. The Pershing
County Water Conservation District also received $651,000, representing one of the county’s
biggest single-quarter transfers.
Health care and insurance costs continue to make up a significant share of county spending.
Pershing General Hospital received just over $1.06 million through the Hospital District fund,
while Anthem and American Family Life Assurance Company were paid a combined total
exceeding $190,000 for employee health benefits.
The county’s partnership with the 11th Judicial District Court remains another major expense
category, with payments to legal service providers, behavioral health contractors, and regional
youth programs totaling more than $300,000 this quarter.
Public safety spending included payments to Washoe County Sheriff’s Office ($59,700), Douglas
Dawson ($35,000), and Axon Enterprises ($11,696) for law enforcement services, equipment,
and professional contracts. Fuel costs for county vehicles also ran high, with Flyers Energy LLC
receiving more than $80,000 across various departments.
Other notable payments included Eide Bailly LLP for the county audit ($19,950), Resource
Development Co. ($94,000) for Imlay Utilities improvements, and Sierra Nevada Construction
Inc. ($466,000) through the Regional Transportation Fund.
