Governor Joe Lombardo has once again proclaimed October as “Get a Little Out There Month,”
a celebration of Nevada’s adventurous spirit, rich heritage, and one-of-a-kind experiences.
The month-long observance, inspired by Travel Nevada’s bold brand mantra, highlights the
people, places, and stories that make the Silver State special—from its vast public lands and
historic mining towns to its modern art scenes and night skies unlike anywhere else.
This year brings even more ways to get involved. Visitors and locals alike can experience
everything from a new stargazing exhibit at the Fleischmann Planetarium, to an immersive
virtual reality journey through Cathedral Gorge and Great Basin National Park. There are also
unique giveaways, including the Ultimate Hockey Experience sweepstakes featuring tickets to
both the Vegas Golden Knights and Henderson Silver Knights Nevada Day games.
Adventure and exploration, from Reno to Great Basin
In honor of Get a Little Out There Month, Travel Nevada and its partners have introduced several
statewide experiences and activations:
∙The Space to Be: A 360-Degree Immersive VR Experience – This virtual adventure takes
guests across Nevada’s landscapes, from the red-rock canyons of Cathedral Gorge to the
star-filled skies above Great Basin. Visitors can find it at the Brewery District Block Party
during Reno’s Offbeat Music Festival (Oct. 4) and at the Nevada State Museum in Las
Vegas for its Nevada Day event (Oct. 31).
∙Ultimate Hockey Experience Sweepstakes – One lucky fan will win four tickets to both
the Silver Knights’ Knightmare on Ice game (Oct. 25) and the Golden Knights’ annual

Parade in Carson City on Nov. 1 with photo opportunities, giveaways, and character-
themed swag.
