Four members of the Pershing County High School cheer squad recently attended the American Cheer and Dance Challenge (ACDChallenge) Mega School Cheer Camp in Reno, where they spent two days sharpening their skills and building teamwork ahead of the upcoming school year.
Held July 18–19, the camp featured instruction in cheers, dance, stunting and technique, along with team-building activities designed to help athletes develop confidence and trust in one another.
Coach Christina Dickerman said one of the biggest takeaways from the camp was learning to trust new teammates while working on stunts. The cheerleaders are now looking forward to continuing to improve those skills and cheering on Mustang teams this fall.
The squad members who attended were Wilma Knisley (ninth grade), Kylie Rackley (10th grade), Isabelle Anderson (ninth grade) and Kyndel Ruiz (ninth grade).
The American Cheer and Dance Challenge hosts camps and competitions throughout Northern California and Nevada, giving school squads an opportunity to improve their skills while preparing for the fall sports season.
