Ascensión “Rosie” Carver : February 26, 1932 – March 25, 2026

Heaven welcomed our beautiful Ascensión “Rosie” Carver who passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, in the presence of her family.

Born on February 26, 1932, in Oreana, Nevada, to Dolores and Manuel Huerta, immigrants from Zacatecas, Mexico, Rosie was one of thirteen children. She grew up in Lovelock, Nevada, where she built a life filled with hard work, laughter, and a deep devotion to her family.

Rosie went on to have four children: Sharon Carver-Ketch, Joseph “Joe” Carver, Jacqueline McCartney, and Susan Gordon-Larson. She later became a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, pouring endless love into every generation and serving as a steady, warm presence in their lives.

In 2013, Rosie moved to Fallon, Nevada, to be closer to family, where she spent her final years surrounded by loved ones who kept her company and filled her days with joy. Rosie’s warmth, laughter, and unconditional love filled our lives with so much happiness. She was stubborn and loving all at once, happiest when she was home just spending time with her family. She loved sharing stories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and those stories will continue to be passed down to the newest generations.

Like her mother before her, she was a wonderful cook, filling the house with delicious meals, and those cherished family recipes will be carried on as a living piece of her love. She also loved reading—especially her Bible—dancing, singing, and coloring with the grandkids when they were little. She absolutely adored babies and took delight in watching every grandchild and great-grandchild grow.

Gathering for the holidays brought her special joy every year. Her house was always the heart of it all, table full, and her heart even fuller. She hosted for decades, turning it into a beloved tradition. Later, her children and grandchildren took over, and they will carry it forward, just as she did.

Rosie lived a life rooted in her Catholic faith, resilience, and an unwavering love for her family.

She is survived by her three daughters: Sharon Carver-Ketch, Jacqueline McCartney, and Susan Gordon-Larson; her grandchildren: Chrystal Carver, Arion (Jennifer) McCartney, Ashlie (Heneli) Saili, Bryan (Sarah) Olivas, Nicole (Travis) Danner, and Natalie Towne; and her twelve great-grandchildren: Aidan, Madison, and Katelyn Osborn; Rylan, Blake, and Colton McCartney; Noah and Maliyah Saili; Autumn and Benjamin Olivas; and Jackson and Billie Danner.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Manuel Huerta; her beloved son Joe Carver; her sons-in-law, Roger Santistevan and Lawrence Ketch; and many sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews.

With deepest gratitude, the family thanks the entire staff of Harmony Manor in Winnemucca, Nevada, for their professional, loving care as they made her final weeks so peaceful and full of comfort.

In keeping with her wishes, Rosie requested a private family gathering rather than a formal funeral service, and she will be laid to rest at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Lovelock, Nevada.
