Residents across Churchill, Pershing, Mineral, and Eureka counties have access to free, one-on-one assistance through the Central Nevada Health District’s Resource Liaison Program, designed to help people connect with essential health, medical, and community services close to home.
The program, operated by the Central Nevada Health District, provides trained resource liaisons who work directly in the communities they serve, helping residents navigate everything from healthcare systems to social service programs.
Resource liaisons can assist with completing applications, coordinating referrals to medical providers and community agencies, and helping residents understand available options for transportation, housing, medical care, and public health services. The program is offered at no cost and is intended to support individuals and families who may find these systems difficult to navigate on their own.
In addition to individual assistance, liaisons provide public health education on topics such as vaccine access, emergency preparedness, chronic disease management, lead exposure, tuberculosis awareness, rabies reporting, and bed bug prevention. Outreach efforts focus especially on rural and underserved areas, ensuring residents have access to accurate information and support regardless of location.
Local CNHD Resource Liaison offices are available during regular business hours in each county. In Pershing County, services are provided at 535 Western Ave. in Lovelock. Additional offices are located in Fallon, Hawthorne, Eureka, and Crescent Valley.
Officials with Central Nevada Health District say the goal of the program is simple: to connect residents with the care, information, and services they need to stay healthy and supported within their own communities.
