Deputies with the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office conducted a specialized speed enforcement operation on Jan. 12 as part of the statewide Joining Forces traffic safety campaign.
Joining Forces is a multi-jurisdictional program aimed at reducing crashes and serious injuries on Nevada roadways by focusing on key safety concerns, including speeding, impaired driving, distracted driving, and seat belt compliance. The additional patrols are funded through a grant from the Nevada Department of Public Safety and its Office of Traffic Safety.
Sheriff’s officials said the goal of the operation is not only enforcement, but also public education—encouraging drivers to slow down, stay alert, and make safer choices behind the wheel. Increased visibility and targeted patrols are intended to raise awareness and help prevent crashes before they happen.
