GBC Access Program Helps Students Cover College Costs

GBC Access Program Helps Students Cover College Costs

Great Basin College is encouraging local students to explore the GBC Access Program, which provides up to $2,000 to help cover tuition, fees, and books for eligible participants.

The program is designed to reduce financial barriers for students pursuing a college degree. To qualify, students must have a high school diploma, be enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree program, register for at least nine credits, and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.

Students interested in determining eligibility are encouraged to connect early with a GBC advisor. Assistance is available by email at [email protected], or by contacting a local GBC center:

  • Elko: 775-327-2068
  • Ely: 775-327-5350
  • Pahrump: 775-327-5210
  • Winnemucca/Battle Mountain: 775-327-8200

Spring 2026 registration closes January 26, but college officials recommend reaching out well before the deadline to allow time for advising and enrollment.

The GBC Access Program is part of broader efforts to expand access to higher education across rural Nevada, helping students gain skills and credentials that support local workforce and community development.
