Residents of Pershing County now have faster access to advanced emergency medical care with the launch of a new Battle Born Medevac critical care ground unit based in Lovelock.
The vehicle, designated QRV419, officially went into service Jan. 1 and is staffed by a paramedic 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Operating in cooperation with Pershing General Hospital, the unit is designed to deliver high-level medical support both in the field and during patient transport.
Battle Born Medevac officials say QRV419 brings the same equipment, training, and level of care typically found on their medical helicopters, offering a critical advantage in a rural county where distance and response time can mean the difference between life and death.
“This asset strengthens our ability to deliver critical care directly to the people who need it,” said Brandon Chadock, CEO of Pershing General Hospital. “We’re excited about the added clinical support that bolsters emergency department care, supports pre-hospital emergency services, and reduces transport times.”
The unit is expected to play a key role in bridging gaps between emergency scenes, local hospital care, and higher-level facilities when needed. By providing advanced treatment capabilities on the ground, QRV419 allows patients to receive critical interventions sooner, sometimes even before reaching the hospital.
Local emergency responders and hospital staff welcomed the addition, noting that rural communities often face unique challenges in accessing emergency medical care. Having a dedicated critical care vehicle stationed locally adds capacity and flexibility to the county’s emergency response system.
Battle Born Medevac encourages residents who spot the vehicle around town or on the highway to give the crew a wave.
For Pershing County, the launch of QRV419 represents a significant investment in public safety, emergency preparedness, and rural healthcare—ensuring advanced medical care is closer to home when it matters most.
