As the holiday season continues, the Lovelock Community Health & Recovery Support Team is reminding residents that while the holidays can be joyful, they can also be especially challenging for individuals in recovery.
Increased stress, heightened expectations, and social situations that do not support sobriety can create added pressure this time of year. The team encourages those in recovery to slow down, set healthy boundaries, and give themselves grace.
As part of its message, the team shared several relapse-prevention reminders, including acknowledging personal risk, having a plan in place, practicing saying no, relying on a trusted support system, and focusing on the true meaning of the season.
“You’re not alone, and your recovery matters during the holidays and always,” the team shared on social media.
Community members seeking help or support are encouraged to call 775-273-2402. The group’s next meeting is scheduled for January 1 at 6 p.m., and organizers say they look forward to continuing the journey together in the new year.
