The Imlay Town Board held a brief regular meeting on Dec. 15, covering updates to the town’s sewer and water systems, park improvements, and progress at the community center.
During the meeting, Ed Urschel provided an update on the Imlay sewer system, noting the need to adopt new bylaws. Urschel said ballots will be sent to existing sewer customers to allow them to vote on proposed changes. Board members also discussed the possibility of pursuing grant funding to upgrade the system and potentially expand service to additional customers in the future.
Water system improvements were also discussed with commissioners, noting that the topic will continue as part of their December agenda as the project moves into its next phase. The town’s new water tank has been installed and is awaiting the next stage of implementation.
In other business, the board reported a slight but welcome park improvement. Florida Canyon has purchased a new basketball hoop, which is expected to be installed soon.
The board also shared an update on the Imlay Community Center, where significant progress has been made. Officials said the building is nearing completion and is expected to open to the public once the remaining work is done.
The meeting concluded with an opportunity for public comment and a brief walkthrough of the community center to view recent upgrades.
