Another beloved Lovelock tradition is in the books, as the St. Agnes Altar Society hosted its annual Spaghetti Feed last week, a community favorite that once again filled the parish hall with good food, good company, and plenty of laughter.
More than 260 people came out to enjoy a hearty dinner of spaghetti, salad, bread, and cookies, among them most of the local high school football team, who showed up with big appetites and even bigger smiles.
In the kitchen, a crew of longtime volunteers, Larry Rackley, Roger Mancebo, Russell Fecht, Anthony Moura, and Jim Rowe, kept the pots of pasta boiling while the youth group handled serving duties, making sure everyone got their plate of home-cooked goodness.
The event, hosted by the St. Agnes Altar Society each fall, has quietly become one of Lovelock’s most dependable gatherings. It’s traditionally held on Election Day, a tradition that locals say goes back decades, though the meal now happens “whether or not there’s an election.”
The spaghetti feed raises funds to support the church’s charitable projects and upkeep, but more than that, it’s a night that brings the whole town together around the table.
