A Lovelock favorite is marking a milestone this weekend. Nanny Joe’s, the vintage and antique
shop on Cornell Avenue, will celebrate its 12th anniversary on Saturday, October 25, from 1 to 4
p.m.
Owners Neil and Lee Ann Gallagher purchased the historic brick building in the summer of 2013
and spent months renovating before opening that fall. “We’ve collected antiques for years, so it
was a natural transition for me after retiring from 30 years of teaching,” Lee Ann said.
The shop spans roughly 4,000 square feet filled with antiques, retro and vintage finds, clothing,
fabric, and books. Over the years, Nanny Joe’s has become a must-stop for travelers passing
through on their way to Boise or Salt Lake City, as well as a gathering place for locals. “Many of
our customers are tourists,” Lee Ann said, “but we’ve also developed regulars who stop every
trip.”
Known for its charming mix of eras and treasures along with the friendly welcome inside the
restored storefront, Nanny Joe’s remains one of downtown Lovelock’s anchor businesses.
The public is invited to stop in for the anniversary celebration on Saturday to browse, reminisce,
and help toast 12 years of keeping Lovelock’s history alive, one collectible at a time.
