Lovelock residents now have a new resource for staying safe and healthy, thanks to a community
vending machine stocked with essential items at The Depot.
The machine offers supplies at no cost and no questions asked. Among the items available are:
∙Naloxone (used to reverse opioid overdoses)
∙Pregnancy tests
∙Women’s hygiene kits
∙Personal hygiene kits with basics like toothbrushes
∙Mindfulness journals
Organizers with the Lovelock Community Health and Recovery Support team say the goal is
simple: to make it easier for residents to access the tools they need to support their health and
well-being.
“This machine is for everyone,” said one volunteer. “Whether you’re picking up a toothbrush kit,
a journal, or naloxone, it’s about removing barriers and making sure our community has what it
needs to be safe and supported.”
The project is part of a broader effort by local partners to promote health and recovery in
Pershing County. By placing the machine in a central, familiar spot, organizers hope more people
will feel comfortable using it.
Community members are invited to stop by The Depot, check out the machine, and take what
they need—free of charge.
“Together, we’re building a healthier, safer, and stronger community,” organizers said.
