The Bureau of Land Management approved the Spring Valley Gold Mine Project on July 15.
Owned by Solidus Resources LLC, the company will conduct mining operations on public and
private lands in Pershing County, approximately 20 miles northeast of Lovelock and 70 miles
southwest of Winnemucca. Planned surface disturbance is about 6,232 acres – 4,123 acres are on
BLM-managed public land and 2,109 acres on private land.
Solidus Resources, LLC, is approved to construct, operate, and maintain an open-pit gold mine,
three waste rock facilities, and a heap leach facility. The project will employ a contractor
workforce of approximately 130 employees during the initial two-year construction and
approximately 250 full-time employees for the operations period. The total life of the project will
be 21 years, including two years of construction, 11 years of mining, three additional years of ore
processing, and five years of reclamation and closure activities.
This project supports President Trump’s Executive Order 14241, “Immediate Measures to
Increase American Mineral Production,” to boost domestic mineral production and reduce U.S.
reliance on foreign minerals, enhance national security, and create jobs.
