The Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) has announced the 47 recipients of its 2025 Individual Safety Awards, honoring outstanding dedication to safety in one of the state’s most vital industries.
Each year, the mining community comes together to nominate and vote for individuals who exemplify the sector’s deep-rooted commitment to workplace safety. This year saw a record-setting 259 nominations, submitted by NVMA member companies and voted on by peers across twelve award categories.
Winners will be formally recognized at a reception during the annual NVMA Convention, taking place September 5 in South Lake Tahoe.
“Safety is ingrained into the culture of Nevada mining,” said NVMA President Amanda Hilton. “That commitment starts with the individuals who show up every day, prioritize safe practices, and lead by example. Congratulations to all of this year’s recipients.”
Nevada is considered a global leader in mining safety and regulatory oversight. The NVMA’s Individual Safety Awards celebrate not just personal dedication, but the industry-wide value placed on rigorous safety standards and peer-led recognition.
In July, the NVMA will announce additional Mine Operator and Contractor Safety Awards, based on performance data from the U.S. Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA).
