The 109th annual Pershing County High School Alumni Banquet and Ball was held June 13 at Lovelock Junction, continuing one of Pershing County’s longest-running traditions.
During the annual gathering, leadership of the Pershing County High School Alumni Association was passed to a new group of officers who will guide the organization into 2027.
Shannon Ceresola was named the association’s 2027 president, succeeding Mackenzie Hodges. Gina Gierhart Vinci will serve as vice president, and Stacey Fritts Levy will take over as roll clerk from Denice Munk Davis.
Hodges, who has been involved with the alumni organization for 13 years and served as president for seven years, will remain involved as a trustee.
“It was an honor to have a hand in keeping this truly unique organization going,” Hodges said.
She thanked PCHS alumni and the association board for their continued support and for electing her through the years to serve as secretary, president and now trustee.
Hodges also credited the board members whose volunteer work makes the annual banquet possible.
“I could not have pulled any of these events off without the board members’ hard work and support,” she said. “This event does not go without the entire board, and I am so grateful to have worked alongside the best.”
She also welcomed the incoming officers and thanked them for stepping forward to continue the organization’s work.
The annual banquet and ball brings together PCHS graduates and their guests while supporting the association’s scholarship fund. Alumni dues and banquet proceeds help provide scholarships for local students.
The association thanked everyone who attended this year’s event and the volunteers who continue to keep the 109-year tradition alive.
