Music and Murals bring color to Lovelock

Music and Murals bring color to Lovelock
Artist Autumn Harry painted a waterfowl-themed mural between Nanny Joe’s and Family Dollar.

wetland wildlife and Native cultural traditions. Photo by Peggy Jones.

Lovelock joined the Interstate 80 Music & Murals project for the first time this weekend, as six artists transformed walls around the community into large-scale public art displays.

Organized locally by Lee Ann Gallagher, Frankie Graham, and Tina Gallagher, the three-day event brought artists, musicians, vendors, and community members together at locations throughout town.

The artists painted murals at Nanny Joe’s Antiques, the city swimming pool, Amherst Park, the Windmill Building, and 940 Cornell Ave., across from the Windmill. Residents and visitors spent the weekend watching the murals take shape while enjoying family-friendly activities.
