Danny, as he was known to most, held a variety of occupations throughout his life, including plumbing and heating, pipefitting, ranching, cowboying, mechanics and operating heavy machinery. He was a man of few words and strong convictions.
He was born July 23, 1954, in Stratford, Connecticut, to Daniel Joseph and Norma Muise Cavoto. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1972, where he played football. In 1974, he married his high school sweetheart, Michele Nemeth. Together they had three daughters: Alyssa, Andrea and Danielle.
Danny owned his own plumbing business, Arrow Mechanical, until 1987, when the family moved to Fallon, Nevada. He owned and operated a ranch in the Stillwater district and worked for DND Plumbing. The couple later divorced in 1990.
In 1992, he moved to Renton, Washington, where he worked as a pipefitter before returning to Fallon in 1993. In 1994, he married Della Rice, and the couple resided in Lovelock, Nevada, until their divorce in 1997. During that time, he cowboyed at Rye Patch Ranch, Lovelock Feedlot and Humboldt House Ranch, and helped build the Oasis at Rye Patch, now known as Gold Digger’s Saloon.
In 2001, he met Alicia Craig. The couple married in 2008 and remained together until his passing. During those years, Danny worked as a mechanic at a full-service gas station in Lovelock and later as a heavy machinery operator for Pershing County.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Cavoto; his mother, Norma Cavoto; his first wife, Michele; and his second wife, Della.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia; daughters Alyssa (Steve), Andrea and Danielle; siblings Shelly, Donald (Cindy) and Keith (Theresa); along with numerous nieces, nephews, stepchildren and grandchildren.
