The Mustang Youth Team is bringing a full-scale community Easter Egg Hunt to Lovelock on Saturday, April 5, with activities set to begin at 11 a.m. at McDougal Field.
Organizers say the event is designed for all ages, with separate hunting areas for children ages 0–3, 4–8 and 9–12, along with a teen division, emphasizing that the tradition isn’t just for the youngest participants.
Each group will have eggs hidden throughout the field, with some containing special prizes.
Among the highlights are “golden eggs,” which give participants a chance to win larger prizes including bikes, scooters and other surprises.
The event is a collaborative effort between the Mustang Youth Team and Jesse Lee Reno 1422 (Clampers), who are helping provide Easter baskets for participants. Community support has played a major role in making the event possible.
The Pershing County Commissioners approved use of McDougal Field for the hunt, and Councilwoman Bonnie Skoglie assisted with coordination. Donations and contributions have also come from a wide range of local supporters, including Nanny Joe’s, Wizard’s Flower Magic, AB Projects Consulting and U.S. Silica, which donated 2,000 Easter eggs for the event.
Additional contributions came from Mrs. Atkinson and Pershing County District Attorney Derrick Penney, who stopped by with gifts to add to the prize pool. Organizers also credited Jacob Gallagher for assembling many of the larger prizes.
Those wishing to support the event can make donations through the Frontier Community Coalition, though organizers emphasize that community participation is what matters most.
With thousands of eggs, prize-filled golden eggs and broad community backing, organizers say they are looking forward to a strong turnout and a fun morning for families across Pershing County.
