Lovelock to Begin Enforcement on Unlicensed and Junk Vehicle Storage

Lovelock to Begin Enforcement on Unlicensed and Junk Vehicle Storage

The City of Lovelock is preparing to step up enforcement of the municipal code regarding unlicensed vehicles, junk vehicles, and recreational vehicle (RV) storage, with official warning notices expected to go out as early as next week.

City officials announced recently that several properties appear out of compliance with existing ordinances, prompting a renewed effort to address long-standing concerns about safety, visual blight, and blocked rights-of-way.

Under the current code, unlicensed or junk vehicles and RVs may not be stored in the following areas:
•Front yards
•On any street
•Within the public right-of-way

Property owners whose vehicles appear to be in violation will receive written notice giving them time to correct the issue. City staff are encouraging residents to review the ordinance now and relocate or remove vehicles as necessary to avoid a citation.

“This is about maintaining safety, accessibility, and the overall appearance of our community,” city staff said in the announcement.

Residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact City Hall at 775-273-2356.
