The Pershing County Library is inviting young readers to dig into books this summer with its 2026 Summer Reading Program, “Unearth a Story.”
Designed for students entering second through fifth grade, the program will run Mondays from June 15 through July 20, with sessions held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Pershing County Library.
Organizers say the program is aimed at keeping kids engaged with reading during the summer months while offering a fun, interactive environment centered around storytelling and discovery. The “Unearth a Story” theme encourages participants to explore new ideas, uncover different perspectives and build a lasting connection to reading.
The program will take place at the library, located at 1125 Central Ave. in Lovelock, and space is limited to 20 students per session.
Registration opens May 4, and families are encouraged to sign up early to secure a spot.
Summer reading programs have long been a staple for libraries, helping students maintain literacy skills while school is out and providing structured activities for families during the summer break.
