The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is inviting local families to celebrate the start of summer with a free community event later this month in Lovelock.
Set for Friday, May 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lovelock Boys & Girls Club, the event is designed to bring families together for a fun and informative afternoon while highlighting opportunities available through the club.
Attendees can enjoy free burgers and hot dogs, along with the chance to enter raffle drawings for summer field trip prizes. Organizers say the event is also a great opportunity for families to learn more about club programming and get signed up for the season ahead.
The club will be offering free memberships during the event, and staff will be on-site to help families complete enrollment and answer questions, including those related to financial aid options.
Parents are required to be present, and organizers say they are strongly encouraged to attend alongside their children to take full advantage of the resources available.
The event marks an official kickoff to summer programming at the Lovelock site, which provides a range of activities and support services for local youth throughout the year.
